Who this is for
This guide is for pest control companies that grow by turning one-time treatments into year-round service plans, and keeping those plans for years.
It’s written by industry experts, not a software company. It shows where pest control jobs slip away, which AI agents close those gaps, and in what order to switch them on. Every number here comes from you; where we show math, it’s a worked example.
Where pest control jobs slip away
Pest control companies lose the most when a one-time customer never becomes a plan customer, and when plan customers quietly cancel. Before the job, these are the seven leaks we see most:
- Calls you can’t answer. Techs are on routes, and a homeowner with scorpions or wasps calls the next company.
- Urgent calls after hours. Bed bugs or a wasp nest at 8 p.m. go to whoever answers.
- Slow quotes on big treatments. Termite and bed bug jobs need inspections and quotes, and slow ones lose.
- One-time treatments that never become plans. The first visit works, and nobody offers the quarterly plan.
- Happy customers who are never asked for a review. The next homeowner picks the company with the most recent reviews.
- Missed service visits. Customers aren’t reminded and aren’t home, so visits get skipped.
- Plans that lapse. Renewals come and go without a word, and the customer drifts to a cheaper company.
Behind the scenes, two more leaks cost you time and cash:
- Route scheduling. Reschedules and new stops are handled by phone, and techs drive extra miles.
- Failed autopay. Expired cards quietly turn paying customers into unpaid ones.

What it’s costing you
Pest control companies lose the most to missed calls and one-time customers who never become plan customers.
Worked example. These are example numbers, not yours: 120 calls a month, 20% missed, half of answered calls become customers, and a $400 first-year customer value.
| Step | Math | Result |
|---|---|---|
| Calls missed each month | 120 × 20% | 24 |
| Customers those would have become | 24 × 50% | 12 |
| Revenue walking out the door | 12 × $400 | $4,800 a month |
Plan conversion works the same way. With 30 one-time treatments a month, turning 3 more into a $480-a-year plan adds $1,440 a year for every month you do it. These are estimates, not promises, so the calculator shows a range from half to all of the number.
What missed calls may be costing you

Second leak:
These are estimates, not promises. Some missed callers were never going to hire you, so the range runs from half to all of the number.
Your first 30 days
- Week 1: Answer every call. AI receptionist with urgent-call sorting and missed-call text-back.
- Week 2: Turn treatments into plans. Plan offers after every one-time treatment, plus fast follow-up on big-treatment quotes.
- Week 3: Keep every plan. Visit reminders, renewal reminders and review requests.
- Week 4: Protect the cash. Autopay, card-update requests and route updates.
What to skip for now
- More ads before every call is answered.
- A new website, unless your free scan flags it. If your site is slow, hard to use on a phone or hard to book from, fixing it moves up the list, because every other fix sends people there.
- Daily social posts. Reviews and seasonal tips do more.
